Education and Experience
Eric Rollins majored in Business Administration at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. After several management and sales positions in other industries, he entered the eye care industry in 1984, beginning as an office manager and then multiple unit manager for a regional eye care chain.
He was then National Sales Manager for Aden Ophthalmic Products, followed by Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Optical Supply Inc., a large independent wholesale optical laboratory. Optical Supply experienced a huge amount of growth during his tenure, including becoming the first lab in America to win both the Varilux Lab of the Year and Transitions Lab of the Year.
Essilor purchased Optical Supply in 1998. Eric then became a District Sales Manager for Essilor Labs covering all sales activities in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. During this time Eric won the Special Recognition Award for the Northeastern United States, and membership in the prestigious President’s Club.
Eric’s latest position before beginning Rollins Consulting LLC in 2006 was Strategic Accounts Manager for Essilor Laboratories.
In addition to consulting for Eye Care Professionals, Eric is a Contributing Editor for Jobson Publications, serves on the advisory board for the Baker College School of Opticianry, and speaks around the country for many groups including Transitions and Essilor. Eric also enjoys performing with the industry musical group The EyeRock Band in New York and Las Vegas.
Eric has also served on the faculty for the Academy for Eye Care Professionals, sponsored by Transitions and a large group of optical laboratories for the past two years.
